Griffen UK is a London based Real Estate investment and development business focusing predominately on the industrial and logistics sector throughout the UK. With in-house asset management, investment and development expertise, Griffen is uniquely positioned to provide the full spectrum of services required throughout an asset’s life cycle. Adopting an entrepreneurial and proactive approach to both transactions and developments has been pivotal to Griffen’s success.

This, together with a wealth of deep-rooted sectorial experience has seen in excess of £1bn successfully transacted and 1.5m Sq Ft successfully developed to date. An additional arm to the business is that of investments in alternative asset classes which focuses outside the logistics and industrial sector and has a strong history of performance and execution.

Rui Nobre
Founder and CEO

Rui Nobre is the non-executive Chairman and Founder of Griffin Holdings South Africa. He served as CEO of Griffin SA from 1993 to 2013. Rui assumed a non-executive role in 2014 when he emigrated to the UK and his primary role became CEO to the Griffen UK office. With over thirty years’ experience in the international property investment and development market, Rui continues his involvement with both Griffin SA and Griffen UK.

Bruce Bailey
Chief Investment Officer

Bruce was directly involved in the establishment of the Griffen business in the UK. He has a wealth of experience in investment, asset management, development and fund management, and has worked across all facets of business. Bruce was previously working on the SIRE UK Fund, a joint venture logistics fund with Valad Europe. Bruce holds a Master’s Degree in Real Estate from the University of Cape Town.

Andrew Mcguigan
Development Director

Andrew is a graduate of Heriot Watt University with a 1st Class Honours degree, as well as a qualified Chartered Building Surveyor and member of the RICS. Andrew’s skills lie in commercial property development. He has considerable experience in large scale acquisitions and project management. Andrew’s core focus as development director is solving complex developmental issues and ensuring projects are delivered successfully to Griffen’s standards.

Sandeep Patel
CFO

Sandeep joined Griffen in 2022, by which time he had fifteen years of experience working with real estate situations, including start-ups, financing, development, investment and divestment. Sandeep trained as a Chartered Accountant with PwC, where he developed a specialism in real estate across disciplines. Sandeep has since engaged as an independent consultant on real estate scenarios in the UK, Europe and East Africa, working with a range of stakeholders including entrepreneurs, investment funds and lenders. Sandeep graduated with honours from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Kristyna Hajkova
Project Manager

Kristyna joined Griffen in 2014 and recently moved across to the Griffen development team as a Project Manager, having graduated from BSc Real Estate Management course at UCEM with First Class Honours in 2021. Prior to qualifying, and alongside her studies, Kristyna worked at Griffen in a PA/Office Management capacity.

Afnan Rushdi
Financial Controller

Having previously worked with Griffen through an external service provider, Afnan joined Griffen as a Financial Controller in 2023 following his four-year spell in corporate finance working for Cushman & Wakefield. He is an ACCA qualified Chartered Accountant with BSc in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University. Afnan has over twelve years’ finance and accounting experience working within real estate across Practice, Plc and PE. His primary focus is on financial management, modelling and controllership duties across the group.

Eveleen Letts
Personal Assistant

Eveleen joined Griffen in 2021 as a Personal Assistant. Before this, she worked as a Parliamentary Researcher for a Member of Parliament after graduating from Oxford Brookes University with a BA (Hons) in History of Art in 2020. Alongside her PA duties Eveleen assists the team with their work, particularly with the day to day administration of the Strand residential properties. With Sofia’s help, Eveleen ensures the office continues to run seamlessly.

Sofia Martinez
Receptionist

Sofia joined Griffen in 2018. Prior to joining Griffen, Sofia gained valuable experience in customer-facing roles in retail, leisure and entertainment, having worked previously as a Receptionist at Warner Brothers Entertainment. Sofia is the first point of contact for Griffen and alongside her receptionist duties, Sofia also assists Eveleen with the management of the office.

Rupert Hackwill
Non-Executive Director

Rupert is CEO of Griffin Holdings (Pty) Ltd in South Africa and took over the South African operations when Rui Nobre moved to set up Griffen in the United Kingdom. His experience in the commercial property industry has been in the arena of investments and property funds. Rupert is a graduate of Cape Town University Business School, he has been active in the SA property fund industry and been a director of Griffin SA for twenty years. He is currently a non-executive director of Griffen UK.

Colin Bird
Non-Executive Director

A BCom graduate from University of Natal, Colin was appointed as Head of Credit of Grindrod Bank in 1996, having previously been employed at Standard Bank and Volkskas Industrial Bank, now ABSA Bank, where he gained extensive banking experience. His core expertise lies in the field of real estate, and he is a qualified Professional Property Valuer and a member of RICS.
